The End

The internship is officially over, I'm back in Detroit (Ann Arbor now), no longer in Chicago.  This
post has been a long time coming but I just kept putting it off because I knew I was going to end up spending a lot of time deciding what to write.  I've always been bad with long goodbye's because I try and summarize my entire experience as accurately as possible and in the best light.  Anyway, from what I can remember, I'll start with how Las Vegas was.

In an extremely generous move on Fulcrum's part, all* of the interns including myself were flown out to Las Vegas for ILTACON 2017, the largest law conference in the United States.  The trip was a one of kind experience because the projects that we had been working on all of the summer got a chance to be something more than just intern projects.  We got to show off the products we had been working on to the people who would actually use them.  In addition to this we listened to speakers talk about problems and concepts we had been working with all summer.  It was a great way to end the summer.

As for Vegas, it was very overstimulating.  Everywhere I walked there was music, lights, and something to buy.   When I first arrived in the strip I thought "Wow, this place is so grandiose."   But upon walking up to the giant Egyptian Sphynx, knocking on it and feeling that it's all made of plaster you realize how fake everything there is.  Nevertheless it was still very cool to see all of the clashing themes in such a small area.  The columns of Caesar's Palace, the skyscrapers of New York City, and the Eiffel Tower somehow fit together.

I've learned so much while working at Fulcrum.  I was able to learn plenty of new programming languages and even better, what I do and don't enjoy working on.  I got a taste of city life, lot's of great food and made some good friends.  It was one of the best summer's I've had in a long time. Even though it has come to an end, there are many more exciting opportunities just around the corner.

School has started and I've moved into my new house on campus which is full of great people. I'm getting a lot more involved in the Michigan Hackers club on campus so when we we were running the booth at NorthFest trying to get new members to join, I brought out some of my old hardware hacks to draw people's attention to it.  I just wanted to share this picture because I really enjoyed seeing people having fun with what I made.

I don't know if I'll continue this blog.  Maybe next summer I'll start a new one called woz-in-*insert city name*.  Anyway thanks for reading the blog, I hoped you enjoyed reading it !
