Week Five: A little late

Yash at the play
So this post is coming a little late and because of that I might have a little trouble remembering everything that happened.  However I do remember one thing quite clearly.  It was a Thursday afternoon at work near the end of the work day.  People were lively, talking among themselves and then some of us saw the CEO, Ahmed, stop by for a visit.  He was In a pretty good mood, going around talking to all of the groups, checking up on people ect.  And then he came over to where my group was sitting and asked us about our plans for the weekend.  I told him we were going to have a get together with the new interns who just finished school and see their apartment Friday night.
View from the new apartment
We talked about that for a bit and then my teammate Yash mentioned that he had been meaning to see Hamilton because he new it was in town.  As soon as he said that, Ahmed said "Hold on I'll be right back."  Well, he shows up about 10 minutes later with two tickets to see Hamilton that night.  On top of that, they were three rows from the stage!  There was a problem though...  There were three people from our team there and only two tickets.  We decided to use a random name generator to see who got to go aaaannnd I got to stay at home.  Better luck next time I guess haha.  I did give them my camera to take some photos however.

Dinner with the team and some girl
Earlier in the week on Tuesday, our team got pulled into the office for a meeting.  None of us had any idea what it was about but we followed Zack, one of our mentors, into the office when he closed the door and said "Congratulations!"  Turns out our team had been ahead of schedule last week
and as a reward for doing so we were being taken out to eat with a few of the new interns.  It was also kind of funny when we found out because Caleb, who had done a good portion of the work, couldn't even go because he was heading back home for his sister's graduation (this also caused him to be out of the running for the Hamilton tickets).   That's some bad luck.

I remember mentioning sun dried tomatoes in the last post which is funny because on his way back from a business conference in Italy, picked me up some!  I put them in an omelette but they were pretty salty.  Good for snacking though.

some nonsense
Reflecting on how this internship has been, I have to say that it has made me rethink a lot of the ideas I've had about what I want to do after I graduate from school.  The program is not structured like school in that you get an assignment with a deadline and very clear requirements that you know one hundred percent can be completed.  It gives you so much more freedom but in return requires more independence and discipline.  I also find it to be much more enjoyable to try and piece something together with what you already know and anything you can find from a few minutes of searching.   It's officially been a month since I've gotten here and I'm looking forward to what the future has in store.
