Week three is officially over so let's just jump right into it. Monday I got to Chinatown. It didn't have as much personality as I imagined it would have. Most of it was dirty and unkept, but still different enough that you would have known you were in some kind of Chinatown-esque area. Myself and most of the interns ate at MingHin Cuisine, one of the local Chinese restaurants. The food was unique in that every dish looked different and had some unique texture or combination of ingredients. It was very fun to try a little bit of everything. However my stomach did not feel well afterwards. I would not go back anytime soon.

The work week was pretty standard. We spent a lot of time refining and focusing our idea. Caleb spent a lot of time organizing meetings with people within the company as well as with lawyers he knew from previous internships to get feedback on our idea. The rest of the team including myself spent time figuring out how we were going to build it as well as learning new platforms we could use. One tool we are looking at utilizing is natural language processing which allows the computer to pull keywords from text and infer meaning from them. It's a slow start but we will be able to kickstart the process once we solidify our idea.
The end of the work week was a highlight. Fulcrum took everyone out to a activity center that had bowling, whirlyball, ping-pong and a some other similar activities. Everyone had a good time and had fun just hanging out. I also managed to get a pretty sweet looking group picture taken. I also spent a good amount of time trying to convince Ramiza , the girl in the red glasses, to get a Nintendo Switch for the interns. I'm not very hopeful haha.

At the end of the week Caleb, Isabel and I visited the museum of Science and Industry near the University of Chicago. We walked around for about three hours. Some highlights were the genetic engineering exhibit, the miniature model of Chicago's skyline and the German u-boat that was captured during World war II. Caleb was very enthusiastic about the u-boat (he is German after all). After we got done walking around the museum we heading towards U Chicago's campus to find something to eat. We got lucky going the day that we did because we walked in on their annual art fair. There was a lot of art, live music, and food trucks with food that was very deep fried and upset my stomach very much.

We spent a little bit of time walking around U Chicago's campus and I cannot put into words how beautiful it was. The architecture was amazing and the center quad was in full bloom looking absolutely amazing. It made Michigan feel somewhat commercialized in comparison. On top of that, when we walked in, one of the bell towers started playing a Harry Potter medley and I felt like I was in a different world. It was a very beautiful day and a great and to another good week.
