Week Four: swag

This has been my favorite week in Chicago thus far.   To start, I have to talk about the Fulcrum branded gear that we received.  And when I say branded I mean branded.  We were lucky enough to receive Backpacks, Nike hats, shirts, and even Starbucks gift cards.   Here is a picture of the apartment bear modeling everything.  Looking good (kind of creepy actually).

The weekend kicked off a group of the interns heading up towards the North side to see visit Chicago's laugh factory.  There were three shows we could have gone to, the 8:00, 10:00, and the Midnight show.  We were told that as the night went on, the shows were less polit

ically correct and filtered and therefore a little better.  Buuut we still ended up going to the 8:00 show which was still really funny.  Also, as we were leaving the venue, we were lucky enough to walk right into the world naked bike ride which is basically just a bunch of white people riding their bikes naked down public roads.  There were a lot of them and it was weird.  I have a picture but I think you'd rather not see it.

This week was also the week I finally got to try authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza.  Since it was one of the interns birthdays this past week and he was on our team, Fulcrum paid for us to take him out to dinner.  We were told to go to Lou Manaiti's.  It was some of the best pizza I've had.  If I could use one word to describe it, it would have to be "thick".  Also, it was not like the Chinese food last week which is a plus.



We finally got a T.V. for the apartment this week.  It's a good old 55" that is "smart" which basically means it can connect to the internet and use video subscription services like Netflix.  One downside however is that there is no port to plug in RCA cables.  So anything that uses those old red, white and yellow cables will not work.  I'm currently waiting on a converter box because I cannot go without playing my GameCube for too long haha.

Other than that, two things I've been doing almost everyday are running and making omelets with sun dried tomatoes.  I also got some cool Beach Boys shirts. Until next time, here's a view from one of my running routes:
